The BRAN committee is working hard to finalize the route . Towns are being contacted regards amenities for the stay. They want to get things done as soon as possible. With significant changes in rural populations it becomes harder each year to get everything we want for the riders. Keep watch on the Forum.

Went to a BRAN planning meeting last night where my suggested theme was accepted with possibly a small refinement. Will receive a prize to be determined later, much much later. The route has been approved but must be verified by the towns. It will be towns never stayed in and never even been through. Right must not be in Nebraska then.

The guessing is officially open and of course as in previous years when a correct town is guessed ,well you know what happens. We do hope to have a reveal party in November. Leave the whole month open. More authentic info when it becomes available. So what are you waiting for guess.

So all overnight towns are first timers?

I'm most interested in the starting town so I'm predicting that we will start at Scottsbluff.

I too would like to start there since my friend has a bunk house to sleep in. Always wanted to sleep in one. Think I will have to wait a little longer .

Ah shucks! I have such fond memories of Scottsbluff having rode through there back in 1971 (on a motorcycle) and I thought it would be fun to revisit. There is a small town just west of Scottsbluff on the border called Lyman. It's small but I believe we have started at even smaller towns in the past and if we started there we could utilize the complete length of Nebraska and even ride though Scottsbluff or Gering.

There will be a 3 and 4 day ride again this year along with 7. My shoulders have been hurting the last few months which had not allowed me to load the bikes up on the bike rack. We have been stuck for a couple months. Thanks to the internet was able to track down a rack with a ramp which allowed me to easily load the bikes without lifting them . Back in the ball game. Trudy and I have been going out 2 to 3 times a week. Hope to pick that up when weather permits. It has been so hot and windy.

The 3 or 4 day option is great for those who can not devote a complete week to bike travel. Good to hear that you were able to find a way around your bike transport issue. Now if we could only get some bike friendlier weather.

We are still working hard on BRAN 40. We did come up with the theme. " NEBRASKA-BEST BY BICYCLE". We are still working on the correct way to punctuate. The theme was suggested by a very wise and good looking guy. Ok it was me.

I can’t wait to see the jersey with this theme. I wonder if the route will be from south to north and back down like a few years ago when we started in Falls City. If we will be staying in first time towns, it would seem hard to find any of those in the western part of the state. Anyway, this route will be a must for riders who want to travel new roads and stay in new towns.

We almost have the route locked in , just one more town to go. Hope to get everything done soon so we can have the reveal party and start contacting the towns.

The route is now as final as can be at this time. Roads must be checked for months to determine any closures. Usually we are good to go but as we know this year there have been many reroutes due to weather. Date for the reveal will be known soon.
